The Washington at Yellow Springs- Spring time wedding in Chester Springs
April 29, 2020Maddy and Janek made things official on a beautiful April day last year. The Washington at Yellow Springs was the perfect venue for their wedding. The venue is in Chester Springs and tucked back into a little winding road with beautiful historic houses. Their wedding day was a little bit windy, but the weather was just perfect!!
Janek arrived at the venue first and got ready. I brought him out onto the front porch for his final touches. The afternoon light was perfect! Maddy arrived shortly after and got ready in the bridal suite which is upstairs at the venue! The space is gorgeous and filled with natural light which made for some amazing getting ready photos! Maddy’s Dress was from BHLDN and had such beautiful lace detailing and a huge train, that I totally fell in love with! Janek’s suit was from The Black Tux and was a deep navy color that I think paired beautifully with the blush accents in Maddy’s bouquet!
Maddy opted to do her hair and makeup off property, this helped with their timeline since they were only allowed to get to the venue at a certain time! Flawless Finish Artistry did an amazing job at everyone’s hair and makeup. Their looks held up all night!
One of Maddy and Janek’s most anticipated moments was their first look. They originally wanted to have their ceremony inside of the ruins on the venue’s property, but they ended up with too many guests on their list to fit them all in! We decided to still make use of the space by doing their first look here!
Since they did a first look, we were able to get all of their formal photos done before guests started arriving for the ceremony! Their pup even made a special appearance! If you are going to have your pup be apart of the wedding day, I highly recommend having someone in charge of your pup specifically, (preferably someone who isn’t in the wedding party) that way, you won’t be scrambling around making sure you’re taking care of your pet!
Their ceremony took place in front of a gorgeous tree on the property which made for a beautiful background! Maddy and Janek said that one of their favorite parts of the day was having their close friend officiate the wedding. But they do have some advice in regards to their ceremony! “If you don’t get a videographer, try to get your ceremony and speeches recorded. We did not do this and regret it.”
Once these two were able to kiss and make it official, Maddy grabbed Janek’s hand and literally ran down the aisle. It was so cute and showed how excited she was to officially be married!!
During cocktail hour, Maddy and Janek handed out signature cocktails to all of their guests as they entered the space on the breezeway. I thought this was such a cute moment, that way they could greet every guest and thank them for coming. I know so many couples find themselves going table to table at the reception trying to say hi to everyone, and either completely forget to eat, or miss a big chunk of the actual party. This was such a sweet little moment, and I was able to get such amazing candids of everyone saying hi to the couple for the first time that day!
Inside the reception space, the couple went for a long table down the center of the room where the wedding party and family sat, while the rest of the guests sat at smaller tables around the rest of the room. The flowers were full of lush roses and tons of greenery which gave a natural vintage vibe to the room! Flower’s by Jena Paige did such an amazing job transforming the room and making all of the couple’s flower dreams come true! Also, what’s better than having a cake and a donut cake?! Maddy and Janek’s donut cake was create by Federal Donuts and was very popular amongst guests!
Another one of these two’s favorite moments from the day was hitting the dance floor. Everyone was dancing basically the entire night and having so much fun!
Just before the night ended, I snuck these two out for a lil night shot. Maddy really wanted one, and when someone requests night photos, I never say no. One of Maddy’s bits of advice is, “Escape from the crowd for a few moments and enjoy the special time together!” Taking a couple out for night shots is one of my favorite moments. It’s really the time when their wedding day fully hits them and they realize how much this day has meant to them!
After the night shots, Maddy and Janek went back inside for their last song together and then ended the night with a beautiful sparkler exit. These two had so many amazing moments throughout their wedding day. From the first look and gorgeous ceremony, to the cocktail hour and bumpin dance floor. I personally never wanted the night to end!
