Chad & Carly- Tennessee couple’s session

Okay, so I think this is my last installment from the wonderful trip to Nashville. Don’t worry though (I know you’re all worried) I’ll be heading back in October of 2018 for a wedding and I’m pretty much already counting down the days! This last session was done on the first day we arrived! I found Carly through good ol’ Instagram and saw that she models and is just too dang cute! When I saw her post a photo with her boyfriend Chad, I knew I needed to ask her if I could photograph them together!

Carly and Chad were the sweetest and welcomed us into East Nashville! We all had fun sweating through our clothes in the intense humidity and swatting away at mosquitos! They gave Mark and I some pointers on where to eat and what to do for the rest of the week!

This spot was one of my favorites. It’s an abandoned church that has the prettiest stained glass windows and an awesome overgrown staircase that I couldn’t get enough of!

For our last few shots, we stopped at a local park just so I could get some of that beautiful greenery in some of my shots!

I’m so excited to share more from this session that I love dearly! Carly and Chad, you two are the cutest!! Thanks again for stepping in front of my lens!

Taylor & Connor-Bucks County Maternity

I’m always so excited to photograph maternity sessions, they’re a nice change of pace from weddings and boudoir sessions. It’s a nice balance of showing love between a couple while celebrating a woman’s body and the amazing things it’s capable of doing! This session with Taylor was the most perfect thing. I’ve known Taylor since we were in first grade together, and then throughout middle school and high school when we were in the same Girl Scout Troop! She’s grown to become an amazing lady who is just about ready to pop!

I asked Taylor why she wanted to do a maternity session and she said “I wanted to do a maternity session to not only capture the once in a life time moment of my unborn child growing inside me but to capture my true happiness of finally becoming a mother. All my life I have wanted to be a mom, it’s what kept me going through my depression, it wasn’t only my motivation in life, but a reason to stay on this earth.” Documenting this special moment in your life, I feel, is so important.

Like most of the gorgeous ladies I photograph, Taylor was a little nervous for her session. I tell everyone it’s okay to be nervous, but don’t sweat the small stuff. I pose everyone and help them through each step of the session so that they feel the most comfortable and confident the entire time! Taylor ended up LOVING her session after it was finished! She said she had no idea what to expect, but felt so relaxed and comfortable as I guided her through each pose.

The session took place at Bowman’s Wildflower Preserve, one of my favorite locations for sessions. I frequent there often and each time the area looks different due to different things blooming throughout the seasons! Taylor’s vibrant blue dress contrasted so nicely with the golden sunset and the yellow flowers that were in bloom at the preserve. She was truly glowing!

The final question I asked Taylor regarding her maternity session was if she’d ever recommend it to other soon to be mamas. She said “Of course I would recommend a maternity session to other mamas because it is a once in a life time opportunity to capture the moment your carrying your unborn child.”

Taylor is the sweetest, and I’m so excited I could capture the beauty of her pregnancy! I can’t wait until your little man is born! You and Connor are going to be amazing parents to Jaxon and I wish you two all the best!

Tyler&Kaitie-Nashville Backyard Picnic

I know, I know…It’s been a few months since Nashville and I’m JUST getting to writing this post about Kaitie and Tyler…I’ve just had so many different things to blog about in my queue, but I’m so excited that I’ve finally caught up to this post!

Mark and I took a trip down to Nashville this summer and stayed in an Airbnb that had the best hosts. Mark encouraged me to reach out and see if they’d want to be photographed! I was so excited when Kaitie said yes! We decided on a picnic in the back of Tyler’s truck at their own home. Their two pups joined them as Kaitie and Tyler enjoyed each other’s company while snacking.

The two of them aren’t Nashville natives…which I found to be pretty common there! Almost everyone is from a different state and moved to the beautiful city! Kaitie and Tyler are from California and have known each other since Kaitie was 15 and Tyler was 21! She said that Tyler was in a band with a guy she had a crush on, and Tyler actually gave her guy advice! Things never worked out with the other guy and her and Tyler reconnected on good old MySpace a few years later!

After being together for 9 years, There are so many things that they know about each other and love about each other. Kaitie said that “My favorite thing about Tyler is how loving, patient and forgiving he is. Three things he has passed on to me over the years and I am forever grateful. I’ve always been a little bit on the rougher side and he has softened me up quite a bit and taught me so much about love.” Tyler said “My favorite thing about Kaitie is how much she loves me. I can see it in the way she looks at me. I love her eyes and how they can tell me exactly what she is feeling.”

I’m so happy I got to photograph these two together. Their love is contagious and I couldn’t help but notice how in love they are. You’d think they were newlyweds and not married for over 7 years! Kaitie and Tyler, you two are the best, thank you for letting me capture your love in your cozy little home with your fur babies (and the chickens!) Hopefully we get to see you again this summer!
